The first Husker came off the board just after 1:30 pm Saturday.
Offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes was taken by the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL Draft’s fifth round at No. 159 overall.
Jaimes started all four years during his time in Lincoln. He started 40 consecutive games, a Nebraska lineman record.
“(Jaimes) has been really solid for us. He’s a good player, I think he’s got a good future in football,” coach Scott Frost said back in December.
This is the highest a Husker has been drafted since three were taken in the first four rounds in 2016.
