In Husker football news: CJ Carr, a 2024 quarterback prospect who’s the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, has received an offer from Nebraska. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound high school freshman already has offers from the Wolverines, Michigan State, Central Michigan, and now the Huskers.

Northwest Missouri State standout Ryan Hawkins will transfer to Creighton to play his final season of college basketball. The 6-foot-7 forward was named a First Team All-American last season for the Bearcats and named Most Outstanding Player of the Division II Elite Eight after leading Northwest to its third national title in the past five seasons.

Junior outfielder Carlee Liesch, junior shortstop Abbie Vodicka, sophomore catcher/third baseman Katie Gosker and freshman outfielder Abbie Jo Gaube represent UNK on the 2021 All-MIAA team. The team is voted upon by the league’s head coaches and they cannot vote for their own players. Liesch earned second-team honors with Vodicka, Gosker and Gaube receiving honorable mention accolades. This is the second All-MIAA recognition for Liesch and the first such honor for the others.
