Y102 - Nebraska's Hot Country

A Kearney woman is facing time for attempting to distribute drugs through laundry carts destined for the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

53-year-old Jane Valenzuela was sentenced to 1 year and one day in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana, and K2. Valenzuela had worked at a Grand Island Veterans Home, whose was one of many hospitals and institutions that had sheets laundered by inmates from the State Penitentiary.

In December 2018 at the Veterans home, laundry carts were combined to save space and several packages were discovered with cell phone, methamphetamine, k2, marijuana, lighters inside.

An investigation revealed Valenzuela had placed the packages inside.
