Nebraska men’s basketball didn’t have enough after halftime to get its first win of the 2022 ESPN Events Invitational Friday.

The Huskers fell to Memphis 73-61. The loss drops NU to 3-3 on the season.

Nebraska trailed by 10 midway through the first half, but fought all the way back to tie Memphis with 48 seconds to go. The Tigers answered with a three-pointer to carry a 33-30 lead into halftime.

After the break, Memphis used a 9-2 run to push the game back to a double-digit difference. Nebraska closed it back to five, but the Tigers ran it back up to as much as 16 points to take the win.

Derrick Walker made his season debut. Walker played a team-high 34 minutes as he notched a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Emmanuel Bandoumel led the Huskers scoring with 18 points, including a 3-of-4 shooting day from beyond the arc.

As a team, Nebraska shot 43.1 percent for the game and made 9-of-24 triples.

Nebraska will close out the Orlando trip against Florida State Sunday.
