YORK – The host York Dukes parlayed a 9-yard run, a 72-yard pass and an 87-yard run into a 21-0 victory over the Hastings Tigers in prep football Friday night.

The score was 7-0 following Seth Erickson’s 9-yard plunge into the end zone at 3:46 of the first. The half ended that way when the Dukes swatted down a Tiger field goal try as time ran out in the second period.

It was 14-0 after three when Carter Stenger foxed the Tigers with a pass pattern that left him all alone in the middle of the field. He scampered 72 yards for TD.

Then with 10:25 left to play, Erickson broke off the 87-yard stunner on York’s first snap after Hastings fumbled on fourth-and-goal.

Emmitt Dirks kicked all three PATs for York.

York (2-0) hosts Bennington next week. The Broncos visit Pius X.
