STARS AND BRONCOS DELAYED TO FRIDAY AFTERNOON:
Lightning and rain set the originally scheduled Kearney Catholic and Amherst Thursday night football matchup to bump to Friday afternoon.
The Stars (3-1) and Broncos (3-1) will start their district play Friday afternoon with kickoff set for 2:30 PM. The game was originally planned for a Thursday night kickoff.
Amherst will have an early-out from the school day to accommodate for the change.
KEARNEY/GRAND ISLAND SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER RESCHEDULED:
Mother Nature had different plans for the latest iteration of the WOK/WOGI softball matchup. The contest was postponed due to heavy rains and lightning in the area.
Roughly 30 minutes before first pitch, the game was sent into a lightning delay caused by storms to the south. As heavy rain rolled through, the field became unplayable, and officials postponed the game.
The softball game will be rescheduled to a later date. Official details will be released soon.
