LOUP CITY — The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office is reminding Loup City residents of a new parking ordinance that goes into effect Oct. 1.

As of the start of next month, it will be a city ordinance violation to park any trailer, boat, camper, etc. on a residential public street, except for the purpose of loading and unloading and only for the length of time necessary to load or unload.

It was noted that enforcement of this will be suspended from April 1 to Sept. 30 of each year, if the vehicle, trailer, or machinery is not park for over 72 consecutive hours and does not violate any other provisions of the traffic regulations.

The Sherman County Sheriff’s Office will begin enforcement on Oct. 1, by use of parking violation stickers on the offending trailer, boat, camper, etc.

If the offense is not corrected in a timely manner, a citation may be issued.
