GRAND ISLAND – The son of Hall County Corrections Director Todd Bahensky faces seven felony drug charges and is being held in the Buffalo County Jail.
Brandon Bahensky, of 809 W. 12th St. is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and forfeiture of property used in commission of certain crimes, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin with intent to distribute, and possession of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony. All are felonies and occurred on May 13. His bond is set at $300,000.
Hall County Commissioner Pam Lancaster confirmed that Brandon Bahensky is being held in the Buffalo County Jail. She serves as the County Board of Commissioners’ liaison to the Hall County Department of Corrections.
“Todd (Bahensky) is one of the most professional persons I have known in my lifetime,” Lancaster said.
After Brandon Bahensky was booked into the Hall County Jail, Todd Bahensky turned the case over to his staff, Lancaster said. Brandon Bahensky was then moved to the Buffalo County Jail.
Todd Bahensky “showed great judgment and was professional,” Lancaster said.
“I am sincerely sorry for Todd and his family. This is an extremely unfortunate situation,” Lancaster said.
“We couldn’t have a finer corrections director. I support Todd,” Lancaster said.
According to a Hall County Sheriff’s Department probably cause statement, on May 13, investigators with the Tri-Cities Drug Enforcement
Team served a search warrant at 809 W. 12th St. During a search of the residence, officers located a handgun with 11 rounds of ammunition.
They also found “a large amount of narcotics.” This included fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and a “myriad of other miscellaneous pills.” They also found four scales, miscellaneous lab equipment, more than 50 unused plastic distribution bags, and an assortment of used narcotics paraphernalia. They also found “$1,044 of drug money.” Brandon Bahensky was arrested.
His preliminary hearing will be at 10:30 a.m. June 11.
