GRAND ISLAND — A syringe containing methamphetamine was found on a woman who was reported to be running around Walnut St. in Grand Island while holding a knife during the evening hours of Thursday, July 11.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 8 p.m., officers were notified by a concerned citizens that a woman was running around the area of S. Walnut St. with a knife.

Officers responded to the area and located a woman who was wearing a red shirt, grey shorts and match the description of the report near the corner of Koenig St. and Walnut St.

The woman was verbally identified as Kaylee Gordon.

Gordon was asked about the knife and officers said she responded that she never had a knife but knew it was in a yard. Officers noted she was acting erratically and a pat down for weapons was conducted.

During the search, Gordon gave consent for her pockets to be searched and a loaded syringe was located. The liquid inside was presumptively tested and showed a positive result for methamphetamine.

Upon more extensive testing, the syringe contained 0.3 grams of methamphetamine.

Gordon was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
