UPDATE: COVID-19 cases in the Two Rivers Public Health Department have more than doubled since Sunday night’s report. As of last night, the health department reports 242 cases. 123 were added in Dawson County where NDHHA reports a total of 172. Three more have tested positive in Buffalo County, and one more has tested positive at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney. The numbers are expected to increase as more test results return. Three more people have died in the Central District Health Department area. Officials reported yesterday that a Hamilton County woman in her 60s died on Friday. A Hall County woman in her 80s and a man in his 60s died on Sunday. The CDHD is reporting 531 cases in Hall County. There are 100 in Adams County.

 

Governor Pete Ricketts announced he will lift restrictions blocking elective surgeries in Nebraska starting on May 4th. Ricketts says a series of safeguards will still be in tact. The new order also lifts the ban on surgical procedures at dentists offices, vision clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and veterinary practices.

Hastings College payed tribute to workers on the front line of COVID19 Monday night. Lloyd Wilson Field was lit up and a tribute video was streamed on the jumbo screen in honor of Adams county medical workers.

 The 10th Annual Hastings Do The Brew has been postponed until Oct 3rd BUT they will be doing a digital event at their Facebook on the originally scheduled date this Saturday (April 25).
