A Grand Island man was sentenced to 10 years for drug charges.

On Friday, an Omaha federal judge sentenced Nicholas Holder, 43, to 120 months of imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Holder will serve a 5-year supervised release after serving his sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.

On January 2021, a Butler County Deputy Sheriff was dispatched to a vehicle in a ditch in Butler County.

The driver, Holder, was found passed out behind the running vehicle.

While being investigated for being under the influence Holder permitted a vehicle search, which revealed 13 grams of methamphetamine along with user quantities of mushrooms and marijuana.

This case was investigated by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
