Thanksgiving Tunes

By News Nov 20, 2020 | 11:10 AM

Thanksgiving songs have always been a topic at this time of year.  You can find Christmas Carols everywhere, but I’ve been told repeatedly there are just no Thanksgiving songs. I would like to disagree.

Even though they do not say Thanksgiving, there are a lot of songs about gratitude and being thankful; and isn’t that what this holiday is all about?

Below is a list I have created of songs that I believe talk about those things in varying degrees.  The list is surely not complete, not in any particular order, and there may be others you would like to add to make it your own list.  The goal is just to get you to focus on gratefulness this week during this crazy year.  Even though the holiday may look different for a lot of you, we can still celebrate all of our blessings.

Dolly Parton – Coat of Many Colors

Sawyer Brown – Thank God for You

Pat Green – Lucky

Oak Ridge Boys – Thank God for Kids

Blake Shelton – God Gave Me You

Merle Haggard – Thanking The Good Lord

Logan Mize – Somebody To Thank

Kris Kristofferson- Thank you for a life

John Denver – Thank God I’m a Country Boy

Keith Urban – But For the Grace Of God

Travis Tritt – It’s a Great Day to Be Alive

Martina McBride – Blessed

Brad Paisley – Alive Right Now

The Highwomen – Crowded Table

Statler Brothers – Thank You World

Kyle Park–Don’t Forget Where You Came From
