OMAHA – The Kearney Baseball team struck out ten batters from Bryce Andersen and cushioned a two run lead in the final frame to earn their seventh victory on the season 4-2 over Millard North on Monday night. Click here to listen to the broadcast replay.
Millard North got started early, having Ty Pankonin singling and scoring two runs in the second inning to take a 2-0 advantage.
Kearney would respond in the third, taking the lead and never looking back as Griffin Novacek doubled adding two runs while Nolan Smith would single and add a run himself.
Andersen earned the victory for the Bearcats, giving up two runs on five hits over six and a third innings of work and striking out ten.
Kearney (7-11) had four runs off of five hits and no errors while Millard North (4-13) fell with two runs on five hits and one error.
The Bearcats take the week away prior to Saturday, facing Omaha South and Norfolk in a home triangular at Memorial Field.
