Holdrege one of several to receive Aksarben Foundation grant

Holdrege was one of several communities to receive the 2023 Aksarben Community Grant.

After careful consideration from the Aksarben Foundation, a grant was awarded to South Central Area Recovery in Holdrege. The grant will go towards building improvement for the facility.

The following communities also received grants:

1) Columbus Community Building – The Columbus Library Foundation, Columbus, NE

2) Emerson Veterans Memorial Park – Emerson Veterans Memorial Park Committee, Emerson, NE

3) Employment Program – Omaha Center for Refugee & Immigrant Services, Inc., Omaha, NE

4) Forest Station Elementary Spanish Books – DIBS for Kids, Omaha, NE

5) Nebraska Empowered Youth Camps – Easterseals Nebraska, Omaha, NE

6) Nebraska Startup Academy – Nebraska Startup Academy, Omaha, NE

7) Northeast Nebraska Veteran and Family Education, Fremont Area Veterans Coalition, Fremont, NE

8) Overhead Door and Roof Repair to Aksarben Building – Brown County Ag Society, Johnstown, NE

9) Plot Improvement Project – Big Muddy Urban Farm, Omaha, NE

10) SCAR Building Improvement – South Central Area Recovery, Holdrege, NE

11) Siembra Nebraska: Youth Internships in South Omaha – Latino Center of the Midlands, Omaha, NE
