GRAND ISLAND – A fatal two-vehicle accident happened in Howard County Wednesday.
According to Howard County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday September 13 at 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 11.
A preliminary investigation found that a southbound 2022 Ram Promaster City failed to yield to a stop sign and struck an eastbound 2020 Jeep Cherokee.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the southeast ditch, where the Jeep came to a rest on a tree after overturning.
The male driver of the Ram was transported for injuries to Howard County Medical Center. The female driver of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The accident has been turned over to the Nebraska State Patrol for further investigation and accident reconstruction.
