Three businesses fail alcohol compliance checks in Phelps, Furnas counties

Nebraska State Patrol investigators have conducted alcohol compliance checks in Furnas and Phelps Counties over the last two weeks.
On Thursday, October 26, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Furnas County. In total, ten businesses were inspected. One business sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 10%. All ten businesses checked the minor’s ID.

During the afternoon and evening hours of Sunday, November 5, investigators conducted compliance checks in Phelps County. In total, ten businesses were inspected. Two businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 20%. One business failed to check the minor’s ID.

The businesses that failed the inspections were:

  • Country Corner – Hendley
  • Casey’s #1800 – Holdrege
  • Drive Golf & Lounge – Holdrege

Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.

The businesses included restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores, convenience stores, and bars.
