LEXINGTON — A two vehicle accident claimed the life of a Lexington man on Highway 30, east of Lexington during the morning hours of Monday, Jan. 8.
According to Dawson County Sheriff Mark Montgomery, at 9:26 a.m., a westbound Mercury Sedan was traveling on Highway 30 near Road 438.
The driver, Miguel Zamudio-Ceballos, 46, of Lexington reportedly lost control and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet pickup Darin Park, 52, of Kearney.
Zamudio-Ceballos was declared deceased at the scene, the next of kin have been notified. Park was transported by the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department to Lexington Regional Health Center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Montgomery said that weather and road conditions were believed to be contributing factors leading to the accident. Restraints were in used in both vehicles.
The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Nebraska State Patrol and LVFD.
