GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Island Public Library is excited to announce its latest mobile app will be available starting March 4, 2024. Now, cardholders of the Grand Island Public Library will be able to access resources anywhere from any mobile device from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
The new app seamlessly integrates with GIPL’s digital catalog from The Library Corporation (TLC), making it easier than ever for patrons to browse and borrow from a collection of more than 120,000 materials, including books, audiobooks, DVDs and more. Other great features of the app include the following:
- * Account Management: View your account information, such as checked out items, holds and fines. Renew items and place holds on available resources.
- * Push Notifications: Receive alerts on your phone for items coming due, overdue items, and when holds are available for pickup.
- * Virtual Library Card(s): For easy access, your library card is always ready right from the app. For patrons with multiple accounts—like our families with a card for each member—one app will keep track of all authorized cards in one place.
- * Events Calendar: View upcoming events and programs & register directly from app.
“We are very excited to be able to offer this to our patrons for additional ways to access our catalog, resources, and their accounts,” said Library Director Celine Swan. “We think patrons will love it.”
The Grand Island Public Library serves both residents of the City of Grand Island and Hall County. Anyone who lives in or owns property anywhere within Hall County may apply for a library card at no cost. Keep up-to-date with all Library happenings and hours online, or Facebook, and Instagram.
