KEARNEY — Two Central Elementary School first grade classes took a walking field trip around downtown Kearney and one of their stops with the NRG Media radio station.
The tour of the building was guided by Y102 morning and afternoon host, Lisa Williams, who showed the students around the KGFW, Hits 106 and Y102 studios.
The students got to learn about how recording a show works, the different types of music played, the news and shows played on KGFW and the new addition of Central Nebraska Today.com as an online news source.
The students got a chance to be on the radio as Willaims was recording her afternoon show and the two classes got to say that people were listening to, “Y102!”
The students then moved on to other places in the downtown area, including the Kearney Public Library.
