No. 20 Nebraska softball’s potent offense was on display Saturday in the first two home games of the season, as the Huskers scored a combined 27 runs in mercy-rule wins over Northern Iowa (15-1 in five innings) and Northern Colorado (12-4 in six innings).

Out of 10 offensive innings, Nebraska scored in nine of them, including multiple runs in six. The Cornhuskers piled up 27 runs on 24 hits with five home runs.

Against the Panthers, Jordy Bahl wasted no time making her mark in her first game at Bowlin Stadium, hammering a two-run home run to put the Huskers on the board. Nebraska tacked on two more runs in the first, then seven in the second, two more in the third and one more in the fourth after UNI scored one in the top of the fourth.

Bahl earned the win in the circle, throwing three innings while allowing one hit and striking out four. Bahl and Samantha Bland each had two hits, including a home run, to pace the NU offense. Hannah Camemzind was 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In game two, the Bears took a 4-2 lead in the top of the third. After Nebraska scored a run in the bottom of the third, the Huskers exploded for six in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to polish off their 13th mercy rule win of the year.

Hannah Camenzind earned the win out of the bullpen, allowing one unearned run in two innings. Isabelle DiNapoli took the loss, allowing nine earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched.

Bahl again paced the Huskers offense, hitting 2-for-2 with three RBI with a double. Ava Kuszak was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two doubles. Olivia DiNardo was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a homer.
